The Rush kicks off 2012 in style (when are they not stylin?) as the crew breaks down the latest action in the sports world. Fresh off a memorable regular season, the crew discusses the upcoming wild-card matchups in the NFL, as well as the coaching merry-go-round in the NFL (which does NOT include Andy Reid).

Joe stays true to form with an aggressive wager about the Houston Texans, while Kirill’s protests finally come to fruition, as the weekly NFL Alma Mater Challenge gets quite the facelift. Finally, the Rush indulges in its most delicious Top 5 yet: top 5 fast food establishments.

Jim, Joe and Kirill have a pre-holiday podcast with a lot of NFL related discussion. They touch on the Packers loss to the Chiefs, the Eagles dominating win over the Jets, the Giants crushing loss to the Redskins, and some other topics. Since Joe is using an Internet connection from the late 1990′s, he gets disconnected at some point and Kirill and Jim keep the discussion going with just the two of them. Later in the episode they consider the possibility of “The Jim and Kirill Show” which would no doubt be a huge success.

Jim, Joe, and Dave talk mostly NFL in this podcast. Dave and Jim kick it off with an extremely underwhelming edition of NFL Player Alma Mater challenge where Jim reaches a level that nobody had reached before. After some Tebow talk, a discussion involving the decision to bench players or not after locking up the #1 overall seed turns into a heated debate. The show ends with a discussion of the upcoming NFC East matchups and Joe finally admitting that the Eagles have a small shot to make the playoffs.

Joe and Kirill are both in denial that the Eagles have a glimmer of hope to make the playoffs and eventually have a debate about the NBA and LeBron James.

Once again down to 3 men, the Rush presses forward in this week’s edition of the podcast. Jim and Dave square off in what is essentially a consolation match of the Alma Mater challenge, while Jim voices his unusually strong opinion of Reggie Bush. After one full week in the books, Dave and Kirill weigh in on Modern Warfare 3, and Jim impresses the crew (mainly Kirill) with his Gimley impression.

This week’s superhero bracket matchups feature two heavy favorites (Silver Surfer and Dr. Manhattan), but only one will live to fight another day.
